APERITIF: What 'Avatar' is trying to say about the future of being 'White' in America, PT. 1

Congratulations to K. BIG!!

I'd also like to congratulate all the hypemen who brought 'The Hurt Locker's' post-Box office presence back to center stage by penning the ultimate metanarrative: directordivorcegate-2010.

(Forget that lackluster list of contenders--the real award should go to you!)

But Bigelow v Cameron beefs aside, my personal (and, largely, FAILED!) 'Precious' campaign aside, please allow me to sip my Hater-ade one mo' gain.

Jungle Fever!! And A Very Cinematic Sunday @TVOne

Right now on TVOne, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee are in full effect!! I LOVE THEM! (...And so my unintended Samuel L. Jackson throwback binge continues...smh. Tell him don't EVER let Tarantino or anybody else put him in horse hair again! EVER.)

Cuando the credits roll, I have MUCHO goodies to share. It is going DOWN something proper around the DMV this week as we bring in Chris Matthews' favorite season.

Happy Eve of "Oh!-They-Just-Remembered-We-Were-Black-Month!" Find a lecture or several--Black people on that circuit are extra-employed over the next several weeks.

Milk it bred'ren. MILK it!

(Vintage Spike Lee. Indeed. Catch all his Wesley Snipes' jams today on TV One as 'Mo' Better Blues' airs thereafter. Then see the man himself on Mario Van Peebles Obamatic doc on race, airing at 7:00p. Catch 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' once 'Mo' Better' credits roll.)
