▌LESSONS LEARNED▐ Erykah Badu, Matt & Kim, & In Decent Exposure

I'm just getting around to watching "Window Seat", brought to you by one of my personal fave firestarters, @Fatbellybella, Erykah Badu. Check it out for yourself below, and participate in the invigorating discussion taking place across the cinematic-friendly blogosphere.

I don't want to kill it for you, but quasi-spoiler alert: the video itself is inspired by duo, Matt and Kim. Read their word alongside directors Taylor Cohen and Otto Arsenault as they talk video with Pitchfork Magazine for their...baring...2009 single, "Lessons Learned."

There will be flesh. Try to stay focused. Here's Matt and Kim's take FIRST.

Keep all lyrics on hand, and if you know any hieroglypics experts, tell 'em shout me a holler, dunsun:

Matt and Kim, "Lessons Learned"

Here is my half a cent *SPOILER ALERT*...
There's an interesting call for balance. If we can get past the hypocritical monologue-ing from everyone about the extended displays of skin, then maybe we can actually talk about what the function of flesh is here. That aside, I say balance because EVOLUTION is across her back, but the whole notion of getting naked in the modern world can either be treated as a throwback tip to the Garden of Eden--MINUS SHAME, and representative of CREATION--or, as it seems most folk would rather do--one could take it as a cheap "pornographic" exploit for the sake of art.
Ok cynics. Whateva. I'm reading it as the former, of course.
I just need to know what the blue blood means.
Cuz...you know E...

Because I know you're wondering, this comes from BuzzTab
"Dallas police confirmed that the singer who hit the streets of Dallas, TX naked for the filming of her "Window Seat" video has violated the law, while taking off her clothing in a public place but that the indictment will not be raised because none of the witnesses have appealed against the incident."
